Jon Hopkins' hauntingly beautiful track Vessel and Wire infuse a neoclassical approach of arpeggiated piano and haunted strings with sharp pointillist beats, making for a great set of bones to be remixed by two of the shining lights of today - Four Tet and Nathan Fake. As like a lot of his work at the moment, Four Tet transforms the orchestral elements into clipped minimalist loops slowly building alongside epic string swirls and a pulsing 4/4 beat, while on the flip Nathan Fake morphs the track with driving high hats and woozing synths, giving it a synthetic dazzle. Two awesome remixes make this release a must!
