Sheffield label Central Processing Unit had a big 2021, hitting 100 releases earlier this year. They’re back again with another hot collection of electro that finds both Maelstrom (a CPU regular) and Fasme (making his debut on the label) in fine form. The A-side hosts the kind of luxurious synth work and snappy drums that call back to 90’s bleep techno, while the back half brings it home for the dancers, especially the title track’s screaming jagged bassline and breakneck kicks.
