Erika De Casier made a big splash in both the dance and indie rock worlds with her debut LP Sensational, so it comes as no surprise that 4AD rolled out the remixes. Blending 90s style quiet storm R&B with an eye towards contemporary alt pop and bass music trends, Casier clearly understands the impact of messing around within different genres. The artists chosen to be included on The Sensational Remixes (like Hannah Diamond, Smerz, Mura Masa, and Eartheater) are largely a reflection of that perspective as well. From house to reggaeton to footwork, these new versions take on different shapes, but always revolve around Casier’s dynamic vocals, a key thread to both projects.
