Originally released through respected UK label Plink-Plonk in 1994, Pandora’s Box has remained a quietly, but cultishly discussed record over the nearly 30 years since its release. The influence of London's early acid house scene is clear upon first listen, but the appeal behind the lone album from Laggy Pantelli and Zeno Messis’s collaboration as Megalon is not as simple as nostalgia for a bygone era. Instead of the curses its mythical namesake inflicts on the world, this Pandora’s Box eagerly bursts with elements of Detroit techno, electro, and ambient soundscapes without ever committing to one particular lane.
