Jon Michaelides comes to UK electronic label Castles In Space to explore the conceptual temporalities possible in ambient works on his latest project under the Dalham alias. Here, two long form tracks attempt to address the statement and subtitle: “The Past Is a Foreign Country”. Using reverb and delay as conceptual compositional tools correspondent to space and time give a feeling of awe and magnitude to the tracks here. Tonalities slide in and out of focus, huge crystalline echoes materialise from the ether and sanguine arpeggios climb skywards.
