Over the past few years Anthony Naples — New York producer and DJ — has experimented with subtle ambient and downtempo deconstructions of his earlier dance-floor-centric sound. Produced as New York’s clubs were set to re-open in summer, Club Pez opens with a wobbly synth line that feels like a sonic representation of shuddering excitement, before coalescing around an old school house bassline, locked onto joy. Elements are kept direct throughout, always aimed at making bodies move, from ’Pez Anthem’s grittier acid territory to 'Uni Vibe's dense deep house synth stabs.
