Here some of those threads are picked up: where the album’s ‘Vectra’ chose a raw, close-up approach to synthesis, here Irène Dresel opts for the reverb-heavy warehouse techno that was heavily implied throughout the source material, while Afrodeutsche strips the opener ‘Cry Me a Blizzard’ to its bear bones, allowing a sense of its harmonic vulnerability to come through, channeling some of the album’s ambiguous emotions in her vocal performance.
