A visceral update to the sounds of Jlin, Embryo is a journey of dizzying footwork for six-legged creatures that will have your head spinning from start to finish. Following on from her second album Black Origami (Bleep’s 2017 album of the year) and her score for Wayne McGregor’s “Autobiography”, Jlin presents an EP of twisted rhythms that attack from all angles like techno acupuncture. Corrosive synths, stilted kicks, and a mixture of human and inhuman sounds dart from left to right, and that’s just on the title track. Having completely torn up the footwork formula again, Jlin is a force to be reckoned with.
