New York’s Yaeji continues to explore the boundaries of pop with her latest 7” collab with OHHYUK, the founder of the Seoul-based indie band HYUKOH. Both songs started as sketches before the duo fleshed them out in person during studio sessions in Seoul in 2021. ‘Year to Year’ hues a little closer to the raves from which Yaeji cut her teeth as a DJ with its drum & bass breakdown, while ‘29’ sees her return to her signature trance-like rapping. Together these two expert slices of alt-pop trace influences from each artist in a truly compelling and distinctive way.
