Stellar second album proper from Danish Balearic/techno/disco crusader Anders Trentemoller, largely divorcing the 4/4 in favour of multi-hued, alternative pop music. Widescreen textures span across the stereo field entombed in feedback and thunderous drum patterns, closer to shoegaze than house. Freaky folk guitars are soon harnessed by strings and swooning female vox, typically Scandinavian in style. An often morose record packed with poignancy that will resonate with fans of Fever Ray,  Bjork, Soap And Skin.
