Prolific, mega-young Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds is back sooner than we expected after a pair of heart-melting long form compositions for London based imprint Erased Tapes last year. This next work is frankly beautiful, bare minimal piano movements, dusted by cavernous reverb, desperately sad string spirals and spare, delicate electronics. A pure, melancholic record that skillfully manages to ease maximum emotion from minimal arrangements. A rare talent.
