The solo project of Keith Farrugia, Sound Synthesis’s otherworldly atmospheres drawing a link between classic Detroit electro and his native Malta. The sprawling ‘Electro Planet’ and ‘Robot Collision’ on the first side resounds a landscape of computerised lifeforms, while ‘Electronic Machines’ and ‘Energy Patterns’ churns thick electro grooves that could melt down a sound-system. Following an array of heavy releases including collaborations with the late producer Microlith, Sound System’s output is at the forefront of Malta’s distinct musical microcosm.
