Following an impressive run of split 12”s on his own Cultivated Electronics label, London’s Sync 24 has finally surfaced with a debut full length. Inside The Microbeat is stacked with the sort of classicist electro and taut acid rhythms fans have come to expect from Phil Bolland. Bolland brilliantly manages to stay true to the fundamentalist spirit of electro across the record while still finding ways to keep listeners on their toes. For instance, Microbeat’s eponymous title track plays loose with some ambient keys before a wobbly kick dislodges the haze, while the hard-charging snares on ‘Avoid The Ploid’ will certainly be a dancefloor weapon in the right hands.
