A maestro of modern ambient experimentalism, London producer and musician Lapalux gets particularly ambient and experimental with Total Reality, Total Chaos. Channelling similar energy to William Basinski, Leyland Kirby and those featured on PAN's incredible Mono No Aware compilation before him, the bare bones of this release came about from tape loop experiments, the raw materials becoming frayed and ghostly over time, offering a neat description of the vast composition itself. There’s ample breathing space across the two extended parts of this release, as each flourish of obscured sound and each synthesised adornment gives the impression of passing through multiple rooms, every corner having its own haunted quality.
