In the grand old tradition of nameless-faceless producers gravitating towards Ilian Tape, 20kPa remains tentatively mysterious on this high-pressure dubplate, adorned with the strange, illegible blueprint of alien technology. Then again, this is music that does all the talking. First off on the disc is ‘Pulse’, a maniacal slice of malevolent dubstep, heavy and swaying with errant synth signals and a pendulous swing. On the flip side, ‘Procedure’ breaks the beat wide open with shards of metallic snare hits and scorched claps, chopping up the rhythm with vertigo-inducing drops and laser gun zaps.
