A new collaboration between Julie Campbell (LoneLady), Stephen Mallinder (Cabaret Voltaire), and Benge (Wrangler) comes courtesy of Belgium’s Le Disques du Crepuscule label. Clinker finds these three post-punk legends working loosely from sketches built independently from each other across several years. At points corrosive and raw, Clinker’s standout track ‘Camoflauge’ finds a counterpoint between noise and pop with Mallinder’s harsh vocal attack rubbing against Campbell’s nimble guitar lines. A certifiably Mancunian affair.
