Anticipated and impressive album release by Fairmont, AKA Jacob Fairley, for James Holden's Border Community. The highlights include the modulating, Vibert-esque 'moog-funk' of 'Bikini Atoll' and '1995'; he's also not afraid to demonstrate a song writing skill with the lush guitar-drenched, 'shoe-gazing' pop of 'Times Fool' and to complete the album, there's the obligatory club-friendly moments such as 'Fade And Saturate' and single from the album, 'Flight Of The Albatross'. All in all, Fairley proves that he is more than capable of varying tempos and moods to make a much more compatible, long-playing listening experience.
