Thanks to 2015’s Sounds From The Far East compiling his label’s releases through the ‘90s and ‘00s, Japanese producer Soichi Terada is finally seeing shine as a house pioneer. Instead of resting on overdue laurels, Terada returns with Asakusa Light, his first album in 25 years named after the emotional lightness he found revisiting past work. As its title suggests, Light conjures a sense of nostalgia with a gauzy, yet deft hand while locating the timelessness in his entrancing productions. Tailor-made for sunrise listening, it’s impossible to not find some light in Terada’s care.
