Richie Hawtin’s run of 90’s tracks across his various aliases was something of a marvel. His uniquely blended brand of techno, rave, and largely defined the era in dance, so it’s of no surprise that Hawtin’s been returning to that feeling in the studio lately. This release, five variations of a tune called ‘Acid King’ that were especially inspired by his Circuit Breaker and F.U.S.E. projects. It’s easy to hear why: the track’s hypnotic acid synths would slot quite nicely on any of those hard to find 12”s.
