Formed in Croydon in the early 1990s, Saint Etienne came prominence in the indie-dance moment in UK music around that time. They are known for developing a unique signature pop sound that helped to lay the foundations for the ensuing Britpop movement.

‘I've Been Trying To Tell You’ is the tenth studio album by Saint Etienne, and is accompanied by a film directed by acclaimed fashion photographer Alasdair McLellan. “It's about memory, and how it can fog and play tricks on you. Specifically, it's about the late Nineties, and current nostalgia for the Nineties.” For the first time, the album was completed remotely (in Hove, Oxford and Bradford) with band members collaborating online. The end result is an album of bittersweet, blissful and unsettling dream pop that will delight old and new fans alike.
