Relaxer (fka Ital) makes his long-overdue return to Planet Mu (and his computer) with this new tech-heavy long player. Marked by a reunion between his hardware and software, Relaxer achieves a sort of hyper digital sonic uncanniness with Concealer that he calls “un-human.” The battle between his oozing analog synths and the computer’s digital sheen make for a sort of “sickly, shiny dimensionality” that he fully leans into on tracks like “Traps and Lures” and the closing title track.
