1997’s Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space is the third album by Spiritualized. The legacy and influence of Jason Pierce’s magnum opus goes far beyond earthly matters. A deeply psychedelic album of meditations on God, love and pain, propelled by rousing gospel choirs, orchestral flourishes, elephantine guitars and some of Pierce’s most outstandingly elemental songwriting, the album presents an inner journey rarely experienced in indie rock. That said, it certainly set a high bar for any future artists willing to pour so much of themselves into a single work.
