When press notes include ‘highly recommended if Art of Noise’s ‘Moments In Love’ still ruins you’, you know you’re in for a pleasant ride. Six tracks and forty-ish minutes of new age transcendency in the form of slo-mo balearic, chugging tropical house and globe-trekking psychedelia from Saphileaum. There’s a charmingly retro warmth in the DNA of Transpersonal Experience, swimmingly sweetly in the softer sides of synthetic soundscapes, drum machines, MPC bongos and biosphere pads. It works best in longform to fully soak up the radiant atmospherics, but tracks like ‘Kaf’ and ‘Ra’ are absolutely primed for sundown sets either way.
