The madcap innovators over at Nyege Nyege Tapes break every land speed record known to dance music with the latest of their compilation discs. The next stop on their tour of sounds from the African continent sends them to Tanzania’s Pamoja Records, run by producer Duke. Sounds of Pamoja showcases the wide variety of voices handled by Duke, each one capable of keeping pace with maniacally fast rhythms akin to the filthiest of dancehall riddims. The likes of Dogs Lizzy and MC Kuke make multiple appearances on the disc, as MC Kono shows some serious stamina with the near-10 minute belter ‘Il Jini Song Wapi’.
