The final piece of Lee Gamble’s ‘Flush Real Pharynx 2019-2021’ album cycle has finally surfaced. The third EP of the triptych continues Gamble’s exploration into the emptiness that spilled into our lives while the world went on hold. A Million Pieces Of You offers a bit more humanity than its predecessors, with Gamble toeing the uncanny valley with his expert use of AI and “deep fake” voicings alongside his caustic beats. All of which falls away for a genuinely human moment during the affecting solo piano number ‘Empty Middle Seat’.
