West African singer and percussionist Falle Nioke pairs once again with a dance producer on this beguiling EP of dance grooves. Nioke, who sings in Coniagui, French, English, Susu, Fulani, and Malinke, and plays a range of cultural African instruments as well, deftly attributes his many talents to Badiare’s variety of beats and sounds. The EP opens with his own bellowing voice on ‘Leywole’ before a bass-heavy shuffle comes into frame, and it closes with him carving space to croon within Ghost Culture’s luxurious techno. All of which makes for an enthralling and well-balanced partnership.
