Bristol’s favourite chameleonic son Kristian Jabs seems to have an alias for every occasion — as long as the occasion demands something deep and brooding. Having drawn considerable attention as Pessimist, Boreal Massif and Soft Boi, Jabs debuts his newly minted Stigma moniker for another disc of experimental dirges, caught somewhere between swaying dub, horror movie sound design and the proud trip-hop tradition of his native city. Too Long feels like another street of Jabs’ environ of urban decay, in which pinging synths whirr and bounce across ominous beats and the producer’s trademark midnight atmospherics.
