A sequel twenty years in the making, Now Thing 2 follows up Mo Wax’s influential 2001 instrumental showcase of dancehall and digi-dub, compiled by Felix Hall, Lil Toby and Richard Browne. Pulling together the original design team of The Trilogy Tapes Will Bankhead and Oliver Payne, Now Thing 2 showcases 16 of the more leftfield, spacey and sometimes just downright catchy takes on dancehall which the team has uncovered between ‘97 and now. Soundsystem music in the purest sense with its weighty and warm rhythms, it works as both a genre sampler and chronicle of the genre's many aesthetic mutations.
