Junius Paul is a busy chap. As well as playing in several groups - including the Art Ensemble Of Chicago - Paul finds time to lead his own band and make records like Ism. This LP is a collection of freewheeling jazz jams that advance the Midwest sound in intriguing new ways. From its stoic, spiritual core, Paul and his group move out to incorporate hip-hop, post-bop and free music. Paul’s old friend Makaya McCraven is among the contributing artists.
