Reissued on vinyl for the first time since its 2009 release, A Woman A Man Walked By was the second official collaborative work between PJ Harvey and John Parish after their 1996 debut, having performed and worked together in many guises since 1988. Featuring tracks written and arranged by Parish with Harvey’s lyrics and hallmark vocals over the top, it’s by turns mellow and introspective, and chaotic and abrasive. It spans folk, soaring alternative rock and throbbing post-punk, with Harvey’s vocals styles switching capably to lead proceedings. Part of a range of reissued works, collectors and new fans will dig it equally.
