After shooting to fame with a now legendary Boiler Room performance and having an electric run of high profile shows before Covid slammed the breaks on the globe, SHERELLE took time during lockdown to craft a debut record of her own.

This release bears the first fruit from these sessions, a sunny and uptempo double A-side. Known for ferociously energetic live performances, this record takes on a more mellow slant while maintaining the hyper syncopation of her sets. “I wanted for my first introduction musically to be different. I feel like I rarely show a softer, emotive side to the world and these tracks are supposed to be warm and forgiving”, SHERELLE says about her first record.

On the A-side ‘160 DOWN THE A406’ glides forward at 160bpm, with a euphoric junglist vocal, neatly carved breaks and crackly, nostalgic pads. It’s a carefree counterbalance to an anxiety-filled 2020 for SHERELLE, and will be a regular feature on dancefloors in the not-too-distant post-covid landscape.

On the B-side ‘RHYTHM LOVE (FEEL IT)’ is the more experimental cut of the two. With a bit more of a stripped back weightiness in its drum machine backbone, it intersperses skyline pad sections with a lurching and loose sample cut, adding a disorientating warmth to its hi-NRG rhythm.

Displaying a more contemplative approach to her notorious high octane style, this is a thrilling maiden voyage for her new label.
