Posthuman welcomes a newbie to his I Love Acid cause, an NYC producer who knows how to get just the right sounds out of a 303 plug-in. We can’t tell you exactly who WTCHCRFT is — we can tell his few releases from as far back as 2015 have dabbled in witch house, downtempo and hip-hop, and yet, like history’s finest acid botherers, we still can’t put a face to the name. ‘Merde Acid’ and ‘Hoom’ take a menacingly minimal approach to squelching bass and snipped drum programming, each track haunted by a devilishly low-pitched Barry White vocal uttering all kinds of satanic trickery.
