A new Andres record is always worth celebrating regardless of the direction he takes, and Praises suitably brings an abundance of joyous vibes to the occasion. The title track is a timeless bit of uplifting US house, with a gospel organ loop and soulful vox. The real pull for followers here has to be the live version of his seminal track ‘New 4 U’ on the B-side. Those instantly recognisable strings hit even harder this time around, given extra space to breathe in the intermissions and reworked into new forms, alongside the addition of live rhodes and disco guitar wahs.
