Weird Weather are LJ Horstman and D Thornley, two producers working in tandem from their base in north London’s MAP Studio Cafe. Following on from releases on Going Good, Emotional Especial and their own LASH00 label, the Succulents EP is four tripped out takes on leftfield club music which share an aesthetic lineage with noise pioneers like Mick Harris. ‘Succulents’ is iced-out digital dub with a darkly psychedelic edge, with ‘Axle 2 Grind’ taking a more percussive and distorted slant. Standout ‘Devil’s Dinner Plate’ moves on tectonic subs with machines and beings springing to life as it chugs fwd.
