The success behind this album may be partly to do with producer Chris Coady (Grizzly Bear/Yeah Yeah Yeahs) but a lot of credit must lie with Victoria Legrand's vocal talent. This is a must for fans of Grizzly Bear and those lusting after golden summer days. Beach House’s Teen Dream still sounds as good as it did when it first emerged way back in the early days of 2010. The LP that pushed the Baltimore duo into the indie big-leagues, this lush and woozy set runs 60s pop from Britain, France and the U.S.A. though the same filter of hypnagogia one hears on contemporaneous records from Ariel Pink and Animal Collective. Teen Dream’s big hits - ‘Norway’, ‘Zebra’ - remain peerless Summer jams.
