A decade after their release on Planet Mu’s Timesig offshoot, Speed Dealer Moms hook up with Evar Records for their SDM-LA8-441-114-211 release. A collaborative project with rotating members, its core is made up of Aaron Funk, John Frusciante and Chris McDonald. Three unedited synths jams which sound like the opposite - complex compositions of glitched out modules, wildly oscillating synths and generally out-there braindance. The most fitting description would be avant-garde electronica - the sound of three virtuosos in their field. ‘LA August 1’ is built around striding bass and synth melodies, flanked by skittery drums and a wild array of FX.
