Jochem Peteri, best known as NWAQ (or Newworldaquarium as it is more often written), adds to his illustrious discography with the Above EP. Sonically in keeping with his much celebrated earlier works like Trespassers, it's a collection of three superbly deep and textured house/dub techno tunes of the most aqueous variety. ‘Above II’ is built around celestially gleaming keys, an unhurried trip through an underwater kingdom. ‘Above I’ takes it into even mistier realms, with a distant kick conjuring up Wolfgang Voigt’s Gas in its most roaming form. ‘Dume’ signs off with softly discordant dub techno, forming a fittingly after-hours ender.
