What started as a hauntingly minimal landscape of gothic dream pop ends in the edges of that world. The third and final chapter of Australian-born Brightonite Penelope Trappes’ Penelope triad of albums offers an especially cold amalgamation of Cocteau Twins, Carla Dal Forno and Fever Ray; a record which is as much an exercise in ambient song-writing as it is a darkly ethereal score to an as-yet-unwritten folk horror movie.
