A team-up of Detroit techno royalty that’s decades in the making, the Star Gazing EP pulls together the shared sensibilities of Aux88’s K-1 aka Keith Tucker and Drexciya/Dopplereffekt member Gerald Donald for a celestial slice of truly awesome robo-funk, straight from the interstellar observatory. ‘Star Gazing’ recalls Kraftwerk with a hardened edge in its drum machine led simplicity, each snare like a slap to the face by Tucker’s unmistakable electro-vocal menace. ‘Telescope Array’ is a touch colder in style, driven by a constant bass thud and subtly gorgeous arps designed to hypnotise.
