The ever-reliable Overmono return to the likewise ever-reliable Poly Kicks imprint with signature chopped breakbeats and UKG tinged productions built for warehouse raves and basement clubs. But as is customary in every Overmono release, there’s always a twist of lemon in there. We begin with ‘BMW Track’, coming in at 7 and a half minutes of unbridled breakbeat joy; part-DJ weapon of choice, part-untouchable classic in the making, with a nice ambient dip at the mid-point. Meanwhile, ‘So U Kno’ snips up an RnB vocal sample and lifts an ominous low end, bringing to mind a much more upbeat version of Burial.
