Death Is Not The End grant Canadian brothers Kevin and Patrick Cahill another East of the Valley Blues release — and true to the duo’s penchant for Fahey, Basho and Max Ochs, Kirkfield Non charts an imaginary Appalachian landscape, where ramshackle acoustic guitars are finger-picked through a buzzing, broken old amplifier. Where the staggering, 17-minute self-titled closer is concerned, the Cahills reach their creative zenith with lilting tones and stray shots of whizzing traffic field recordings.
