We must admit, we thought this was a typo — Death Is Not The End, the label hell-bent on resuscitating fascinating odds and ends from throughout music history pull together a sample-loaded, kinda-avant-garde, sorta-anachronistic ‘debut’ album which at once sounds like a turn of the century field recording collection and an album made in locked-apartment isolation just last week. Whatever the ‘two old records’ at DINTE’s sampling disposal, they both ease themselves between bluesy American Primitivism and chiming toy piano loveliness. We wouldn’t be at all surprised if this was in fact yet another stellar DINTE reissue and not an original work.
