Enigmatic producer Kesa Getame debuts on ANA with a maniacal disc of breaks, beats and dub. The Black Dog, named for a portent of doom and misery, seems relentless in its dystopian atmosphere, groaning with gaping reverb one moment and exploding into a car crash of cut glass and metal drum programming. But look beneath the flurry of discordant sound and fury and you’ll find there’s something oddly celebratory about the whole ordeal; a frame-perfect picture of euphoria in the darkness, fuelled by raw expression and a serious mind for high NRG moments evidenced in every last detail.
