2000 Black mainstay Dego returns with a nine track double LP titled The Negative Positive. Continuing to champion his own trademark take on house, broken beat, neo-soul and all that lies in between, Dego’s sound as always is one which is driven by pure musicality. In the context of their long discography, there’s a lot more explicitly retro-tinged takes to be found than on previous offerings - the bubbling ‘What’s Good For You’ (featuring the vocal talents of Obebewa) sounds like a lost single by the excellent Loose Ends. As always, quality control and positive summer vibes remain sky high throughout.
