It’s an exciting prospect that long-time friends and fellow explorers of folk’s outer parameters Meg Baird and Mary Lattimore have finally come together to create collaboratively. Ghost Forests answers that burning “what if?” with more questions, largely asked in musical conversation between the two players. Baird’s vocal gently flutters and glides across Lattimore’s harp on the likes of ‘In Cedars’, invoking deeply psychedelic ambient pastures as well as an inkling of storytelling you’d expect from 1970s “freak folk” outsiders.
