The fifth installment of the Microlith series on Fundamental Records, a posthumous series sharing the work created by Rhys Celeste (aka Microlith) before his tragic passing in 2017. Microlith V is eleven tracks orbiting loosely around the electro mould, with each track taking the name of an area in Berlin. It hits a sweet spot between loose bedroom jam and tidy dancefloor weaponry, full of versatile broken electro and drum machine workouts with softly reflective melodies and dynamic arp action keeping things moving forward. ‘Alexanderplatz’, like its namesake, is a central feature here with an undulating bassline and muted melodies.
