Originally only available on a super limited cassette release which came out in 2018, Tapes returns to Good Morning Tapes to reissue Silence Please in vinyl form for the first time. Following auditory excursions to Japan, Nebraska and the Carribbean, Tapes guides us by the hand through his sonic take on traditional Indian fare. It’s unabashedly New Age, and all the better for it. Parts 1 and 2 are softly undulating and meditative but deceptively detailed, unhurriedly weaving in and out of gentle percussive refrains and melodic flourishes, before Parts 3 and 4 veer into darker, wispy bong smoke hypnotics.
