We’ve come to expect returning champs from Central Processing Unit, and this disc from Carl Finlow aka Silicon Scally (as well as countless other aliases) — the last being 2018’s marvellous Projections EP — continues his reign of no nonsense crepuscular acid electro. Revelations sees Finlow rebooting the portal engine straight for the Dopplereffekt realm. The space-aged twinge of the title track blends neat melodies and unexpectedly hooky bass sequences with that classic piston-perfect drum programming and a host of satisfying squelches, while side B’s remixes up the airy atmospherics without stripping the propulsive rhythm.
