Glume & Phossa bring us the latest record out of the Deep Medi Musik camp, Mala’s label which focuses on releasing sound system centric music. Across four tracks, the Banshee EP explores sounds akin to the label founders early foundational work in the formative days of dubstep (the proper one). Much like the revolutionary sounds of those heady days, the Banshee EP is purpose-built to do damage on low-end heavy systems. Encompassing smokey back room vibes, striding arpeggios & bright melodies interspersed with rhythmical vocal cuts, it carries a focus on Eastern chord structures while residing firmly in deepest Bristol dread territory.
