Touch Strings is the latest long-form work from New York based composer and film-maker Phill Niblock. Comprising of three pieces stretched over two discs, the first hour long piece of subtly shifting microtones and dense frequency matter is a bewitching place to be, formed in tandem with Susan Stenger and Robert Poss. Over on disc two cellos, signal oscillators, violins and piano played with strings are poured together across movements, at once beautiful and challenging.
